Leisurely breakfasts. Maybe you’re tiring of them after a year in lockdown; they are no longer a special luxury. But they have a place in life. For me, they are a treat associated with festivals. There used to be a converted Airstream on the Coldhams Common site at Cambridge that did great eggs benedict. Now that’s what I call a breakfast! Or is it brunch? Whatever, it matters not. Breakfast like a king, so we’re told, and I’m inclined to agree. Even when I’m on shift at daft early o’clock, I still have to have some carbs inside me before leaving the house. If I don’t, literally, I get the shakes within the first couple of hours.
This morning, I have had a couple of slices of toast, smothered with avocado, lemon juice and garlic, topped with some leftover bacon bits. That should see me right for the coming bike ride.
What sets you up for the day?
