Thank you mr Team for bringing it back. Any chance of giving it a dedicated page so those who use it as a forum rather than a blog can see it slightly embiggened?
Philip K Dick – Bargain on Amazon Kindle Last Minute Deals if anyone is interested
Sure there must be some fellow ‘dickheads’ here.
Reason why I’m posting this is that Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep is currently a 99p last minute deal on Amazon UK (link attached).
While I prefer the five volumes of PKD’s collected short stories over his novels, Androids is one of his more accessible longer works and was the basis for Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner.
If you’ve never read any Biggus Dickus, this might just be the kick up the arse your bookshelf needs during these dark, dystopian times (and times don’t get much darker or more dystopian than they do in Androids).
On the subject of Kindle Deals, anyone know if mousey is OK as he’s not posted his regular monthly update yet.
Under Pressure – Willie Nelson and Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs
A remake that really shouldn’t work but their re-interpretation of the song is actually rather wonderful. A truly inspiring tune for these troubled times

Beatles bete noire DI Norman (Semolina Pilchard) Pilcher sets the record straight
One of the most unpleasant and elusive of the many figures who defined the 60s.
Given that not even Craig Brown seems to have been able to track him down, I’m amazed he’s still alive
Another week, another new Neil Young album…
28-minute collection of songs from his recent fireside concerts – ten of your English pounds, please.
As one wag puts it in the Amazon review, more a case of Rush After the Gold than After the Gold Rush
What gig would you give your eye teeth to be able to see again?
Given that it’s unlikely that any of us are likely to be seeing anything other than a bastardised socially distanced form of live music any time soon, what are the past gigs you went to that you’d most like to see again?
Please also feel free to include details of your first – and worst – concerts, too if you feel the need.
Print your book
I have been using my shielded quarantine to write a daily blog about my favourite songs. Not really done any writing before, but it helped me fill my time and gives some sense of achievement.
I am now stopping at song 101 (returning to work soon), but I am interested in printing them in book form, as a souvenir for myself or gift for my supportive family and friends. Probably about 20 copies.
Any one had any experience of using the print on demand websites in the UK ? Any useful feedback ?
Thanks
Afterword-friendly blog
I came across this newish blog, from Independent and Guardian journalist Neil Morton, on Twitter so thought it might appeal to the Afterword cognoscenti.
Posting Problems
Hi
We’ve had a handful of users reporting that the site’s not letting them publish blogs. Thanks to everyone who’s taken the time to report the error, and apologies for the inconvenience.
We’re not sure what’s causing the problem – if this has happened to you, please post below and let us know whether you’re on Mac or PC, what browser you’re using, whether you were posting a long article or a short one (if short, approximately how many lines long it was) and whether you tried to include any links in any of the boxes.
In the meantime, if you’re composing a blog, be sure to write it in Word (or similar) first, and copy it into the blog when you’re ready to hit submit, so you don’t lose your work if the bug bites.
Thanks Hannah x
