How would Americans know about Snowdonia? Some of us were lied to by our parents and told that if we walked up Snowdon we could get the train down….and then at the top discovered the trains didn’t start until after Easter. Oooh memories! 40 year old lies – far worse than Father Christmas – at least we got presents! but…there you go. Whatever this is bloody brilliant album. Listen, dance and buy.

Just had a listen on Spotify. There were several moments that actually made me smile, and overall it gives the impression of being a real grower too. Have ordered the CD.
How do I stop this? I pressed play but the other button doesn’t work. I’m sorry but I just find this milquetoast at best. What fuckin’ century are these people living in?
I feel the same about a lot of the music recommended here, which on first listen often seems rather beige, and due to the sheer amount of albums released these days I rarely get further than a first listen unless I’ve invested some cold hard cash.
In the case of Surfer Blood’s music I can hear a yearning beneath the cheery surf rock, and given some time those guitars become utterly hypnotic, making them for me indispensable.
well described @minibreakast – some very good songs on this album.
I’ll give them another go purely on the basis of minis reply.
Go for the debut, Bri. It’s called Astro Coast.
Okey doke!
Am absolutely loving this, it’s really got under my skin now. Cheers @anton !
