If I can just interrupt for a second. The guitar Julian Cope is using there is a fairly new Fender Villager 12-string, which he uses with only 6 strings. It’s a cheap-ish made in China model, retailing for around $600.
The original Fender Villager was made in the USA between 1965-71 and had no cutaway or pickup. One of those would cost you around $2-3,000 today.
That’s clearly a custom paint job Julian has added.
