Who would have thought there are rabid Bananarama fans? Salivating over a 33CD (!) Box set of single mixes. Includes such delights as 9 different mixes of Venus. Of course some are still concerned something may be missing …

There’s been a few derisive posts re the 33 cd set from Andy Warhols favourite band…. A cynical type might think some of you quite… errrr, well you know… Just saying like…
Is it a coincidence that those derisive posts all link to the SDE site? Are they all just “watching” the Super Deluxe Editions out of “curiosity”…? Nudge nudge.
I am not being derisive, I am just amazed. I am pretty obsessional (and completist) about certain artists, but I would have trouble going for a 100 quid 33 CD set where 90% of the content is just variations of songs that I presumably have owned for decades anyway.
Good luck to those who will buy and enjoy such a set, I doubt it will be played in full more than once though by anybody (if that).
Yeah. Like most box sets then…
Good point

Nice to see all those instrumental versions.
Just what I was thinking. I mean it’s not like once you’ve heard one instrumental version, you’ve heard them all, is it?
Perhaps it’s just me, but I saw this and there was a bit of me that wished I was a big Bananarama fan just so I could buy it.
In fact, I’d go further and say that there was a bit of me that actually considered becoming – as in, assuming the mantle of – a big Bananarama fan just to buy it.
Just me?
Makes my dream, unlikely though it is to ever come true, of seeing the first two Stones’ British LPs released on CD, appear rather tame.
Still, with this news it’s good to know the record industry is in good, and tasteful, hands.
I go to SDE fairly regularly because it’s the only place in the world that makes me glad that I don’t have more money.
Seriously, the amount of crap I would fill my house with….
If the Nanas don’t float your boat, Belinda Carlisle’s catalogue has just undergone the same treatment.
I do wish someone would do, I dunno, New Order’s.
Yeah it made me wish a favorite band of mine would do the same. There was a New Order thing mooted called ‘Recycle’ which was meant to compile all the single mixes and odds and sods…This was years ago I think when Rob Gretton was still alive. For a while fans got so fed up of waiting there was a website where fans had basically remastered all the tracks for for download complete with cover art for each disc and instructions on how to make your own box. It was online for quite a while before m’learned friends caught up with them (and indeed Hooky)
