Just a heads up that throughout January Rhino are releasing on vinyl 12 limited edition titles, some even appearing on coloured vinyl if that’s your thing….artists include Fleetwood Mac, Yes, Rush, and Dream Theater among others.
Personal picks –
The Cult’s often neglected Beyond Good and Evil set, and some of the more overlooked items in the Rush catalogue – Presto, Roll The Bones, Test For Echo and Counterparts. Also Dream Theater’s Metropolis Part 2 (alongside 3 more of their earlier albums), and the highlight for me, a first vinyl appearance of Steven Wilson’s excellent remix of Fragile by Yes (on green vinyl to boot!)

Wasn’t the SW remix of Fragile available in the vinyl boxed set that came out a few years ago?
This is his 2024 remix that was in the SDE that was released last summer.
Rhino are kings of this kind of thing. Rocktober? Yes, that’s one of theirs. All still available in January at reduced prices.
Let’s face it, Rhino are just the catalogue division of Warner Music Group.
Milking the catalogue (and those that buy from it) is the game.
Yes, it’s a totally different label (since 2005, according to Wikipedia) to the one that made my Turtles best of album in 1982. A small cog in a huge machine.
The Rush albums mentioned came out in the 90s and as such the original vinyl copies are rare. I guess this may be why they’re coming out.
There’s a reason they’re overlooked though: they’re a bit dull.
