Andy Powell announces a long-gestating Wishbone Ash ‘vintage years’ 32CD set, planned for next year via Madfish, the people behind those enormo-boxes on Family, Pretty Things, Ian Hunter, Streetwalkers, et al. For those who insist that Wishbone Ash can only be either the four original members or the Mk2 one that lasted into the early 80s, there should be no angst here – it will cover those line-ups plus the WA Mk1 reunion period from 1988-90. (I wonder will it cover the lesser-known era in between Mk2 and the Mk1 reunion? Must ask Mr P…)
I don’t believe it will feature BBC material or DVD content, but expect lots of unreleased takes from album sessions.
I’ve been reading AP’s blogs about it, Colin. I can’t wait. I’m not a completist but, hey, I’m 60 this year. I was 15 when Wishbone Ash first came into my life, and they have never left.
I hope they’re paying you decent rent, at least!
I’ve only just started saving for the Steve Hillage boxset..
32 CD’s of Wishbone Ash? You don’t get that for murder these days…
Still… better than 1 CD of hip-hop I suppose.
Nice one Jim. ” better than 1 CD of hip-hop”.
Afterword t-shirt right there
Put me down for 10, all different pastel shades, size large.
