I have a real soft spot for songs in which lyrics are just repeated over and over; done well it’s just stunningly effective.
I had never heard Witchi Tai To by Harpers Bizarre before last week and I have been playing it to death since. It’s just magical and hypnotic stuff.
Anyone else like this sort of thing? Post em below, I fancy making a playlist….
Une, deux, trois, quatre – Delacroix is a randy prat!
Cinq, six, sept, huit – a stain on all our undersheets!
This is what you want. this is what you get
Public Image Limited – Order Of Death
Surely, the definitive PiL chant is, erm, Chant.
I bloody love that song, I really do.
Another Brick in the Wall.
SFA – The Dan don’t give a f..
I LOVE this tune…
So do I. Apparently the Steely Dan pair refused permission to use the sample at first and then relented when they got to hear it. They released a 22 minute live version a few years ago which is just immense.
Louie, Louie
The Fall – Hit The North
Chumbawumba Tubthumping.
Alternatively
A quite angry man told me a few years ago that some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses.
He really was frightfully cross… either because he’d burnt his turkey or because Joe McElderry hadn’t made it to number one.
Staying with the Native American theme of the OP –
I might leave this one out of any playlist I might make. Nothing personal man…
Ay Ay Ay Ay
Oy, Oy, Oy, Oy….
Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich show how it’s done
This?
Loads of Ian Dury choruses. We saw the Bkockheads last night, which surely comes under the category of Reasons to be Cheerful One! Two!! Three!!!
Surely this?
This fits the brief

Michael Zager Band ….”Let’s all chant.”
Loads here….

Queen – we will rock you – Nothing more chantier…
Oh, I dunno…how about this?
Me and Mr B were grooving merrily to this and rest of the soundtrack yesterday as we drove from chazza to chazza like a couple of intergalactic tat-hunters, albeit the kind that stop at the farm shop for lunch. Great tune.
I got a mint copy of the magnificent first Lyle Lovett album in a chazza yesterday for 3 quid. They think they are vinly savvy – “Unhalfbricking” by Fairport, looking a bit knocked about – 75 sovs. I don’t think so.
Yikes!
Best find yesterday was 1986 Japanese CD of Jimi In The West, quite a collector’s item it seems. Fifty pee.
If you mean Hendrix In The West, that’s a decent album, even if its provenance is so dodgy it that might well have been licensed by Arthur Daley Enterprises.
That’s the one. Sorry, gin brain 😀
For a few minutes I thought you’d bought a recording of the Experience’s ’68 psychedelic rave-up in the Okehampton Tea-Rooms.
Now that’s gotta be worth 50p!
Oo-arrr!
I have the vinly, minus the inner photo of Jimi which the bloke who sold it to me at reduced price insisted on keeping back in1976. Git.
“Blackfoot, Pawnee, Cheyenne, CROW!”
Geno! Geno! Geno! Geno!

Now I could murder some toast…
Nice chant-along chorus here.
Tears For Fears – Shout
Go on, let it all out. Even if these are the things you could do without
You talkin’ to me?
The Ulster version of that TFF song is rather more aggressive.
In France all songs are chants.
And all Stephin Merritt songs are chants magnetiques.
Sorry @Moose the Mooche do you mean champs magnetique?
Don’t ask me pal, it’s Jean Michel Jarre’s pun.
The Dickies have “form” in this area..

I’m sorry.
Tune!
What! Mullets in West Germany in 1985?
No, I can’t handle that kind of cognitive dissonance.
No mention of Hey Jude by, um, that band who made it a hit? Never-bloody-ending chant, that.
and no mention of The Rutles Shangri La
“La-de-de-da La-de-da, Here we are in Shangri La” repeat
(Soft Machine – We Did It Again)

Monologue, flugelhorn, to the most glorious chant I’ve ever heard.

All the young dudes fits in here
As does Seven nation army where (rather uniquely?) the guitar riff has become a chant.
As on the new anthology…
You rang? The Godfathers – altogether now : Birth! School! Work! Death!
Brian Eno – Work/Wank

This is essentially a children’s chant
