Just got back from seeing this father/daughter duo at a brunch gig in Watford.
That same song was their final one, but they had bassist Dave Whitford along for the show and Pete’s missus Nikki Iles took over on piano for this and a few earlier tunes. Proper swing gig.
Off out again shortly to see some more contemporary stuff. Archipelago, Jelly Cleaver and Samuel Sharp at the Pumphouse Theatre, also in Watford.
This evening it’s Sultan Stevenson Trio with Mark Kavuma and a jazz DJ set from Jelly Cleaver at the Steinbeck & Shaw nightclub.
These are all part of the inaugural Watford Jazz Junction festival.
Very much so, if you like late period Talk Talk. I bought a vinyl copy for a friend. He liked it so much he bought the CD too so he could put it on his iPod. It’s on streaming services. The band are active on FBook.
Ackshally…. this is tonight’s listening
Ha! Glad I was the prompt 😉
Saturday morning here in Kiwiland. I’m typically listening to acoustic guitar at this time. Now it’s this.
Saturday morning listening – the fab new waxing by Lyle Lovett.
If there was any justice left in this world this would be Album of the Year by a Country mile
Didn’t know LL had a new one out.
Thanks for the heads up
Nor me – that’s just beautiful – shall order now
This is quite tidy:
It’s Lee Rogers, the Carrickfergus Springsteen.
I was at the cinema, watching A-ha: The Movie. Scandi- noir with Fleetwood Mac levels of dysfunction, which has similarly produced great music.

Ethel? I love how the old names are coming back. She has an interesting voice. Will investigate further.
I am mostly listening to Held By Trees, the band of ex Talk Talk musicians.
@neil-jung
Held by Trees? Not heard of this, worth a listen?
Yes it is…..
And as this is a @niallb thread, it should also be noted it contains added Robbie McIntosh
Thanks, noted, @Chrisf
