Fill us in on the zoology junes, before we read the article: does ‘red bellied black’ = certain death?
Our prurient interest is piqued if it’s a real killer jobbie! Unless you’re really unlucky with a dodgy ticker or what have you, the British adder bite is only like a very bad case of a wasp sting, and standing on a weever fish hurts like hell but all you need to do is plunge your foot in a bucket of the hottest water you can stand, and in ten minutes or so you can get back in the surf. So the prospect of reading about living somewhere where the garden fauna can bring you to a painful death within minutes is total clickbait.

Would love to be able to contribute to these snake threads, but famously there are no snakes in Ireland, St Patrick having driven them all out.

Not lethal unlike the blandly named brown snake. Interestingly bitees can lose their sense of smell. COVID can do that can’t it?

Christ alive, don’t tell me there’s also an Oz snake called the beige snake???

I’ve enquired about this previously and if so do they only bite pensioners in much the same way that our indigenous venomous snake the lowly Adder only bites people who are good at sums.

The bandy bandy only bites horse riders.

The King Snake whilst being non-venomous will without any provocation whatsoever lunge at and bite Elvis impersonators.

I believe the spider on the wall may also be at risk.
