A dad and young son wander through a desert rave in Morocco, handing out a missing person pamphlet to anyone who will talk to them. It’s his daughter. No one has seen her, but there could be another rave coming up on the border with Mauritania, maybe she’ll be there? When the army come to break up the party, the father and son break loose and hook up with a tight older group of misfit party animals heading deep into the desert. Their journey becomes in turn, exhilarating, shocking, frightening and, perhaps, apocalyptic.
Don’t look up the plot; see this blind on the biggest screen you can find. The visuals and soundscape, which includes music by Kangding Ray are uncompromising and immersive. I guarantee that when you walk out of the screening you’ll want to talk to anyone you can, just to work out what you’ve just seen and decompress.
