Paging The Mods: video in post.
Off to see him in Dublin next March.
Off to see him in Sydney in January
Have you got a ticket already @Mousey ?
@Junior-Wells On sale from today (Thurs) at 2pm on the Frontier Touring website.
While I like the video and love David Byrne I’m not sure that’s a song I ever want to hear again.
There is much to love about Talking Heads and much to admire about David Byrne. Accordingly, I find myself admiring the song and the video more than loving it.
I quite like that. For me his solo career has been very patchy, I love his first post Heads album though, Rei Momo. One of the best live performers on the planet I think (with much T Heads material), playing 2 shows at Massey Hall in October in Toronto, just checked pre-sale prices. Ouch! Not paying that I am afraid, but I will adopt a wait and see strategy.
What do you regard as a fair price?
Good seats here are $US 130
Well cheapest (last row, partial view, restricted legroom) are CAD $137 then you are looking at $300 or more for anything decent, Massey Hall is a great venue , but a lot of the seats have restricted views and poor legroom. A good balcony seat that cost me $160 for Beth Gibbons is $350. If you want row 2 in the stalls $540.
Paul Simon was even pricier. A lot of rich people in Toronto
I would pay $150 for a half decent seat.
So they are charging $US 220 for a good seat.
The Melb venue is a large outdoor venue with mainly GA on the lawn so perhaps that is why it is cheaper.
Based on the last tour , I expect plenty on-stage and plenty of staging.
I should have said “half decent” $220 US would be for a fairly acceptable seat, but a row way back on a high balcony. More than that for a good seat, at least $300 US, even some balcony 2 (200) seats are more than that. Massey Hall is a pretty small venue but like I said probably only about half the seats could be classified as “good”

Last time I saw him do a full show (American Utopia) I effectively paid about $30 and was about 10 metres from him, I had a pass for a 5 days festival that cost $150.
S’ok but I feel there may be better songs released this year.
Got 2 tickets for the 3rd show in Manchester – first 2 sold out before I could check with the GLW, and only the £250/head packages were left.
£70 each not terrible. Probably gone by now.
Typical thing of all tickets gone by end of the pre-sale….
Will be the 3rd time – always a great show. Wish I’d gone to see the last tour in Leeds – got the recording instead.
