There may be some sneering on here that she is no longer relevant but I believe her new album Be Myself is excellent and she has a great way with a tune.
Its a shame that singles don’t make money these days because there are 3 or 4 songs on this album that are so catchy they would have set her up for life in another age.

No sneering from these parts – as you say, cracking album.
Have been tempted. When it goes cheap (which maybe the case already) I shall invest. Have her first half a dozen albums. Saw her live with the mess at Hammersmith back in the day. Kind of lost track after that with the country stuff.
That 2nd album of hers is a beaut. Deserves a vinyl pressing.
£7.99 on Amazon currently and worth every penny. She knocks great stuff out seemingly at ease – the last album of hers that I bought was detours – I may very well fill in the missing bits because this is a corker.
What she needs is a place on the Transatlantic Sessions to pep up her cred. Sadly the live show of Transatlantic Sessions needs a leg-up itself, getting ever more bland as each year goes by. So, you listening, Jerry’n’Aly?

Not assuming that that track is typical of the rest, at any rate.
The plodding beat. That repeated guitar dis-chord in the verse, like fingernails down a blackboard. The trite oh-oh-ohing chorus.
I was tempted to give up as the second verse started but I persevered right to the end.
The middle-eight bit (or whatever you call it) near the end was an improvement, but not enough to save it for me.
