I’ve been waiting for this debut “Saving Grace” album (ft Robert Plant) for getting on for 5 years now !! … having seen the band on most of their UK tours, its been pretty special to watch them grow and develop as a unit since their first outing in a small pub near the Welsh borders back in 2018, where they performed as a surprise support for Robert’s mate Dave Pegg.
Robert Plant says in his new Rolling Stone interview that they laugh a lot – I’ve certainly never known a band so at ease with each other – together they are a joy to watch. The album has been long awaited by everyone who has seen them live in UK & Europe over the last few years … N.America finally gets to see them in November and that will indeed be something special for band and audience.
I put my pre-order in yesterday and the first track has dropped on YT & streaming already – a version of “Everybody’s Song” (written by Low) … its a big sound … the live set has many such roars, calmed by many whispers … the album tracklist promises plenty of both.

Please, please, please do not post videos in original posts.
This post deleted several previous posts due to including a video. This has now been resolved but it’s plastered all over the site asking everyone not to do this.
really sorry – i saw some other posts with video and thought it must be OK now
… very many apologies
You are forgiven. Those other offenders may not have been so lucky, if you get our drift
Is it not possible to do a bit of programming jiggery-pokery to make it physically impossible to embed videos in original posts?
How we wish it was! No, sadly that can’t be done or we would’ve done it already, trust us
Shame that his website is so hungry for personal information – I’ve avoided it by ordering elsewhere – it’s a marketing black hole, ghastly.
Great first track though!
yes it is a bit over the top isn’t it – I was already on the mailing list & had accepted cookies and still got bombarded 🙁
…. that aside, this is going to be a great album based on the shows I’ve seen … have you caught any of the SG gigs at all ??
Lucky enough to see them live at Sligo International Music Fest a couple of years back.
Wonderful band, wonderful night
they just keep getting better and better don’t they … lovely to hear him singing with a bit more space around him too
the early dates were a lot more tentative as everyone was gingerly finding their way around a new sound … i remember at Monmouth they did a mesmerising version of Nature Boy – I dont think it stayed in the set too long though
Here’s Nature Boy.. Mesmerising indeed.
He is a superb live artist. I look forward to hearing the album
Wow thanks for that – I’d not seen it …. fantastic & the guitarist Tony Kelsey is a bit special too isn’t he !
The only thing that annoys me about Plant these days is his tendency to always play some old Zep songs, regardless of which combo he is fronting or co-fronting. Let ‘em go, Bob!
In fact, when I’ve seem him live (admittedly not with this combo) I’ve usually been quite impressed with how he’s arranged the old Zep songs to fit the approach of his current band. Anyway, why not?
Let it go, Retro!
You miss my point ish. Yes, he does often very good re-arrangements, but then will often do another. And another. And another. More an issue with the more rockist Sensational Spaceshifters than Saving Grace, it is true, but I at least get the opportunity to go for a leak.
You miss MY point – you strongly dislike Zep and therefore are not predisposed to enjoy these songs in this context. Or am I horribly wrong? If so, I apologise unreservedly…🙂
Actually wrong. I don’t strongly dislike Zep, being very fond of a small but important part of their canon, namely the quieter and less ballsy bits; Black Dog and Rock’n’roll are the two exceptions, being indelibly etched into my excitable brain of the time. The slower bluesier songs on 1, Thank You on 2, bits of 3, and side one of “4”, together with Going To California. Then I got off the bus.
You missed the 5:15 to Kashmir then. And The Rain Song. Your loss.
I know the first song but not the second. Or so I thought, finding it on my Greatest Hits Remastered, which I seem to have, along with 2 and 4. It’s nice.
Actually I thought the Leo Zep numbers he did with Alison Krausss live worked very well.
I managed to see Saving Grace in Birmingham and they were fab so greatly looking forward to this.
Which is the Plant combo I haven’t seen, so I can’t comment.
