He had a background, I believe, in academia, and I always pictured him as akin to Professor Denzil Dexter in the Fast Show.

Well … it’s a sad day for us Deadheads, now that Robert has gone to join Jerry.
I always liked this rather moving bit in the “Anthem to Beauty documentary where he talks about being holed up in a hotel off Piccadilly with a crate of retsina, and writing “Ripple”, “To Lay Me Down” and “Brokedown Palace” all in one afternoon.
Yeah, so rest easy Robert – and thanks for all the words.
