Didn’t he also have a hit with the Smurfs ?
There was some award ceremony or other where Peter Waterman admitted that they lifted the bassline of Trapped for Never Gonna Give You Up.
It’s a magnificent piece of music and CA’s voice is a fine thing. Some of the synth sounds used are rather cheesy to modern ears and of course the lyrics are utter pants.
Great bassline. No wonder it was nicked later.
Sounds like he had a really hard time in his later years. Terribly sad.
