I hope you’re doing what I’m doing now.
Watching Aretha’s funeral streaming on YouTube.
It’s been going on for hours
It’s emotionally powerful
It’s religiously powerful
It’s politically powerful
Extraordinary people celebrating an extraordinary woman.

Bill Clinton, the cynical old tart, was absolutely extraordinary. I mean in a good way.

The Twatter police have been out in force this morning, their beacons of justice and moral rectitude at full beam as apparently, the vicar got a bit handsy with Grande and said something about Taco Bell. Clumsy, stupid and I don’t doubt offensive to some, but really, the tone of outraged hysteria at the damn padre is beyond parody in some cases

I might give this a watch. Is it really worth watching the whole thing back or was it ‘of the moment’ do you think? How long was it – six hours, wasn’t it?? I can’t imagine how they padded out that much time!

I don’t do funerals.
The only funerals I’ll take any interest in are those of very close friends and relatives.
