As I type, Record Store Day 2017 is a mere ten sleeps away. I’d like to declare the what-are-you-going-to-get thread OPEN! So, what is everyone interest in?

Stevie Nicks – Rarities 12″
Neil Young – Decade
I quite like the idea of the Thelonious Monk one, but I expect it will be eye-wateringly expensive.
Anyway, I will be doing some DJ ing at Love Music in Glasgow on the day, and then heading down to Mono to catch up with some other friends.
If I get a time sorted out , I will update this post.
Have fun and keep on supporting record shops!
There’s also a spanking new single-sided Alice Coltrane release, I read somewhere, with a big ‘ol lotus flower design on t’ other side. A nine-minute live solo harp improvisation.
I’m tempted by the Flaming Lips, assuming it’s not £40
I vowed to buy nothing but am getting a friend Bowie’s Cracked Actor live album and he is buying me Springsteen’s Live in Hammersmith 75 set.l!
I’m a pretty obsessive record buyer insofar as I would willingly travel to somewhere like Stoke on Trent purely to visit their record shops (which are superb I have to say). I’ve helped out in friends Record Shops on RSD but I’d never camp out outside a shop or queue for ages to get a record (or anything else for that matter). In previous years most of what I fancied I’ve been able to get a day or so after the event but I’m not generally in the market for the really big hitter/mainstream stuff.
I usually have my eye on a couple of things but I must say there really isn’t anything I really fancy this year – – I was interested in the Jason Spaceman/Follakzoid thing but that’s £23 quid – for a 12″ single? – nah.
If you want an idea of prices here’s what Piccadilly Records are asking for the 400 or so RSD titles they will be stocking:

I might spring for “Electric Warrior” on gold vinyl – the first album I really loved. Wonder if it has the poster?
I’ll be trying to get the Manics and the Placebo/Bowie 12″s
