I’m sure we all heard the news on Radio 1 Newsbeat…
The Big Moon* have been announced as Record Store Day UK ambassadors for 2020.

Of course it’s like a religion, cos every time I say I want to go into a record shop my wife says “oh, God!”
I’ve got one like that.
Other stock phrases include: “what have you ordered now?” as newly delivered packages are waved in the air.
The “where are you going to put that lot?” question has relented at the moment as I have just re-purposed the DVD shelves and cleared the top of the stereo

“Are there any records you don’t already have?”
See also….
“Haven’t you got this already? Maybe you could get rid of the other copies”
“Surely you have enough by them”
“I thought we were supposed to be de-cluttering”
And lest we forget….”you can’t possibly listen to them all”
“Haven’t you got this already?”
“No, this is a different version. Look this one has 12 tracks – the other 4 copies only have 11”
“Weirdo!”
“This is the American pressing. It uses a different master. Look, in the deadwax, there’s a different matrix code.”
{sighs}
You’re a big fan of the Steve Hoffman forums I imagine…
Like The Big Moon , a proper band who don’t take themselves too seriously. Especially like this Wes Anderson-y video.
Just as I’m reading this, there’s an announcement on 6 Music that The Big Moon are sitting in for Iggy Pop on his show today.
Oops, sorry, it’s tomorrow.

Think I’m Losing My Religion
Join me here in the corner.
And lest we forget….”you can’t possibly listen to them all”
We’re just in the process of moving house (again) and have been having the ritual debate:
GLW ” We’ve got so much junk, we’re downsizing, we have to be ruthless”
Me (recognising that ‘junk’ is code for “books, records, CDs, anything that I like”) “I’m not getting rid of any more, I’ve got rid of loads in our last six moves in nine years…”
GLW “Oh, FINE” the most powerful weapon in the female passive-agressive arsenal).
Me “Let’s be adult about this, eh?”
GLW, a few days later ” I thought we could maybe get a China cabinet to put some ornaments out”
Me *sigh* (thinks “And you’re telling me to get rid of my model BATMOBILES?!)
@black-type
Fine! Whenever my wife deploys that word I know I’m in trouble and everything is pretty much the opposite of Fine.
Often followed with the phrase “oh, do what you want “, meaning “DON’T even think about doing what you want”
This thread is a bit like watching an episode of George & Mildred.
Yebbut who’s George and who’s Mildred?
