I’ve been looking for some decent CD storage for some time and finally settled on a shelving system from Shelfstore. Very flexible and easy to assemble I would definitely recommend them

You could always bin the jewel cases and store them in plastic wallets in the loft and never play most of them again.
I did that 10 years ago.
That is precisely my apprehension Uncle.
I do that, but all my CDs are ripped to a hard drive and those files are the ones I play using iTunes and a Squeezebox
I subscribe to Spotify Premium and listen to what I want when I want it.
I do not even have access to a CD player other than in my car.
Except the roll call of stuff not on Spotty.
Noticed today that Seonaid Aitken Ensemble’s rather nice album is on Spotty (which I’d unsubscribed from in favour of Tidal) but not on Tidal. Ho hum.
I have almost every album/track I own digitised (about 70% lossless) but I still retain quite a quantity of CDs, Vinyl and Minidiscs for my listening pleasure. I even still have a dusty box of cassettes and the means to play them.
Are the shelves height adjustable ?
My shelfstore shelves are height adjustable in about 5cm increments. I’d recommend them, apart from the triangular corner shelf which is bobbins.
They can also be painted if you like painting bits of pine.
We’ve had some of ours for twenty years and they’ve been moved many times.
Looks very good.
I’m probably teaching you to suck eggs here, but make sure you leave gaps at the ends of each row or you’ll be forever moving every CD you have to add new ones. This is presuming you store alphabetically and I’m sure you’re not some sort of mad person who doesn’t.
*coughs*
It’s all very well leaving gaps for future expansion when you first set your storage up.
After a while, as you acquire new “stuff”, those gaps tend to disappear and you still end up moving everything to accomodate the new.
How do you spend those long Sunday afternoons when you’re not moving your whole CD collection after acquiring a couple of Bjørk CD singles on Saturday? It’s part of the fun.
