I’ve been on another jaunt digging down south, I stayed in the Milton Keynes area this time but probably hit every charity shop there with mixed returns. I did drop off 3 huge boxes of LP’s I had won in a previous auction that were sitting in my mum’s garage at various shops in the south of the city, but it was 7″s I was mostly looking for this time and I found plenty from the 60’s. Pics in comments.

Theme from a early 60’s TV show I wasn’t familiar with which came in a scarce picture sleeve with Herbert Lom on the front/back, the B side is another John Barry tune bizarrely called Onward Christian Spaceman.

Another 60’s single which was in amazing condition for it’s age as other copies I have come across over the years are usually pretty battered by kids playing them with no thought for future spinners, but this copy looks un-played, incredible but I’m not a fan of Eric’s version of the Dr. Who theme.

Another 60’s theme but from a Hitchcock film.
Love that TV21 E.P. – it’s F.A.B.
I was a TV21 subscriber from issue 1 (my mum threw all my hoarded copies away while I was at University) but I don’t remember seeing this advertised – likely because at that time I think the only record player in the house was the old HMV wind-up in the loft.
noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo………………………….. I guess the Daleks one went as well, that’s one of the rarest
sorry the pics are hosted on my Photobucket account – Imgur is unreliable atm

Hoyt Axton cover version by an Essex based R&B group.

This caught my eye as it’s an R.G.M. Sound (Joe Meek) production.

I picked this up for my Rangers FC collecting mate (he already had it, lol).

I never knew the Roxy sax man did a cover version of the old Wagner classic, it’s pretty good!

I was aware that two of The Rutles knocked this song off but I didn’t know it came in such a horrible khaki coloured vinyl.

I had to have this covers E.P. from 2007 as it includes one by the Ramones.

Probably the rarest single I found was this original UK issue in it’s super scarce picture sleeve.

I was chuffed to find this for a quid, an early SFA in a great fold out poster sleeve.

You unearthed some good stuff there @Gardener
Loving that SFA sleeve – I would guess that is pretty rare.
Love seeing these posts.
thanks for your kind words guys, am looking forward to posting the albums here soon – some mAd stuff in there!
I just found a Kate Bush Wow 45 in Abergavenny that has one label side completely blank (A side), how rare is this and can I bring forward my retirement? (It cost 4 quid)
that could be a promo – I have a similar KB but of Wuthering Heights, they are worth a lot more than £4 so a nice find indeed!

Ooh!
I found my largest flexi today – a 12″ ‘pick up alignment & correct side pressure vinyl blank disc’ from the early 60’s.

If a blank disc isn’t useless enough yesterday I picked this up at the car boot for 50p. A 12″ acetate of the wedding & reception by a couple in New Zealand. I wonder if they are celebrating their Diamond Anniversary next month?

I very nearly parted with a quid for this on my summer hols last year, then thought “I’m not sure I’d even play it on Charity Shop Classics” and put it back.

haha, I obviously got suckered then, it’s sitting over there in the ‘Royals’ section of records….
