Anyone here like the Real Estate? If you’re not familiar they’re New Jersey combo and to my ears sound like a mix of Teenage Fanclub, The Byrds/CSN, Television, Aztec Camera, High Llamas, early Prefab Sprout and Felt. They frequently cite The Feelies as an influence – who I’ve never heard and perhaps I should (anyone care to advise?)
Anyway the new one from them ‘In Mind’ is excellent, in spite of being their first without Matt Mondanile (who is a mighty fine artist in his own right and is now focusing on his solo project Ducktails). Been listening via ‘streaming’ and It sounds like a keeper to me so I feel compelled to go and purchase it from my local Indie shop tomorrow on an expensive piece of plastic – we’re due a long, hot summer – this will be on heavy rotation regardless.

Helpful to have this explanation. They have some high profile adverts for a UK tour in the Unshod/Boho conspiracy this month, including a picture of them on stage, They look like a suit yourself mix of anonymous dudes from a record shop. Wondered who/why/what etc.
Feelies are nerdy power-poppers. OK. Not earth=shattering..
Yes. Get the blue vinly. Equally good is their last long-player Atlas. I shall be at the Ritz in June for some jangle overdosing.
Thanks for that. Second recommendation for the newie.
Love the prior record Atlas. The jangly Byrdsy guitar very catchy. Here’s the “hit single”.
Another Real Estate fan here, I have all four LPs and the new one, ‘In Mind’ is to these ears the best. Highly recommended. It was that Byrdsian ‘Jingle Jangle’ sound that hooked me.
I’ve been enjoying this latest for a week or so as with its predecessors ….enjoyable if bit too couth at times?
I’m very taken..
Atlas was good as were there supporting shows – esp one at the Green Man.
I’ve not yet properly got into the new album, but hope to.
As an aside I think that the Many Moons album by another member, Martin Courtney is rather fab.
