yes those are the two Bargepole is looking forward to – the bonus material so far on the reissues has been underwhelming to say the least – what happened to pieces like this…..
Blast hasn’t been taken by the last round of re-re-reissues but, there’s every danger I’d download, eh buy online, presence and ittod. Just for the extras.
Hmm – depends on what’s on there – hopefully not more nearly identical ‘alternate’ mixes – we live in hope for things like Fire and Don’t Start Me Talking.
Other than the live disc included with the first album and a few bits and pieces here and there (Jennings Farm Blues, the instrumental No Quarter, the Sunset Sound mix of Stairway) the extra tracks have been overwhemingly underwhelming. Note to Jimmy – putting the words “rough mix” next to something that sounds EXACTLY the same as the released version does not a bonus track make….
That’s why I’ve been sticking with the vinyl reissues, although I don’t think I’ll bother with Presence, ITTOD or Coda.
Having said that though I’ll probably get Presence, because Achilles Last Stand….
Jimbo has said he’s been including bonus material that hasn’t been released by pesky bootleggers. Thing is that’s the really interesting stuff. As Ruff said, some interesting bits n pieces but mostly as identical as dammit takes.
