Just in….
“Last year, we got together to rehearse, just for the hell of it.
After a seven year pause, it felt really good to play the songs again and reconnect with a musical identity that has become lodged deep inside all five of us.
It also made us want to play some shows together, so we hope you can make it to one of the upcoming dates.
For now, it will just be these ones but who knows where this will all lead.”

Will they play Yello?

Haven’t we suffered enough this year already?
I’m old enough to remember when Radiohead were so avowedly “No Logo” that they played in their own tent, stripped of any advertising interference. I only mention because they’re playing Live Nation/Ticketmaster/AXS’ O2-sponsored venue The O2. Looks like they’ve done a Pearl Jam and assumed we’d all forgotten. their principled stance. Will also be interesting to see what sort of ticket price they feel is acceptable. Somewhere north of Paul Heaton’s gig there last year, I’d have thought.
At least they have posted the prices on their website. I hate not knowing the price until the tickets are in your basket.

I happen to be in London the weekend of the first 2 shows there!
Those prices are reasonable by today’s standards
That’s what I thought. And I have to say, having seen them at Earls Court 20 years ago, they will probably be fantastic at the 02
I haven’t been to an arena gig in years but those prices seem very good, no?
Buckleys of Sydney shows of course.
Given the artwork’s use of King Of Limbs era imagery, and the recent Hail to the Thief remaster, I’m guessing this will be career-wide setlists with no new gear, basically enabling them to finance their other projects for the foreseeable. Oasis’ similarly crowd-pleasing setlists also suggest it’ll be the High Flying Birds that are the ultimate beneficiary.
Not that there’s anything wrong with it: I’ll be singing my lungs out with Oasis in November, yes indeed.
No surprises (hehe) at all that the Gallaghers would be playing to the back rows; slightly disappointed the EIIRP hitmakers aren’t gearing up to new music.
Certainly not a cash grab with lowish prices, relatively small venues (not stadiums), and a small number of dates. I don’t think they are short of money
Hail to the Thief release is a live album not a remaster. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they play some new tracks. They have often down that in concert.
I wouldn’t be that surprised if a completely new album drops in late October.
They have form with surprise releases – I seem to recall that with Moon Shaped Pool (or it may have been the single) that all their social media suddenly went blank and then it appeared the next day.
Not sure about that. There have been 3 Smile albums in the last couple of years, also Jonny Greenwood was seriously ill for a time and as Radiohead work at a snail’s pace I doubt they would have time to record a new album.
They may have new songs to play though. I saw them in Sept 2000 and they played 10 unreleased songs. 7 came out on Kid A a month later, but 3 were from Amnesiac and came out a year or so after that
I am very excited. If successful, it will be another family outing as everyone in our house loves them.
