Ashamed to say I’d never heard of her. Hell of a voice.

Worth having a listen to – white soul funk in the main.
Gave her a good listen…sensational voice, but not crazy about the material, which (to generalise) is soft soul merging into disco. Anybody who had the balls to tackle A Man’s World right out of the gate might have made some tougher choices, I feel.
I checked in with Mrs thep. Mum and dad music, never listened to it, was her succinct reply. But she was more of a Midnight Oil girl…

Was discussing that just yesterday and concluded she was indeed our finest female singer. Went to America and the companies didnt want her face on the records coz she sounded so “ black”.
Seen some great shows. Saw the worst concert I have ever been to. Paul Kelly didn’t write Difficult Woman for her without reason.
Fantastic singer. I discovered her via a large charity shop donation that included loads of her CDs. Ready To Deal is an amazing album.
