An amazing life, lived to the full.
Girlfriend to Miles Davis, friend of Jean-Paul Sartre. Both Lennon and McCartney fancied her like mad. She was the inspiration for McCartney’s “Michelle”.

What a remarkable woman!
Here she is interviewed in 1957.
I fell in love even though I understood nothing.
Can you imagine meeting her at a dinner party?
Here she is in English.
Let’s have another song.
She was a very cool character and epitomises that post war French renaissance. Sartre’s muse and Miles Davis’s lover, she was quite a gal. If you’re interested in that era Anthony Beevor’s “Paris” is an excellent read – covering the period from the liberation to 1949.
Thanks Twang. Great tip.
I’ll buy a packet of Gitanes and then get stuck in.
And a beret.
“Merde!”
“J’ai égaré mes oignons!”
Sacre pantalons!
She was also in the TV series »Belphégor« – sort of a sixties Twin Peaks-like mystery thriller (with beautiful views of 1965 Paris):
That looks fantastic.
