got my text this morning – not 56 until October – and booked both appointments online for the Cricket Ground down the road, so hoping to combine the 2nd jab on 1 June with a sleepy county match. Just like Kate Bush tickets the first time I tried to book I got ‘one of your scheduled appointment times is now not available’ and had to go back 3 steps, but hey go go NHS.

Cool. I did wonder why the range went from 60 and over to 56 and over, not 55. I’ll be 54 next week, so a little longer for me.
Should clarify I did not get Kate Bush tickets, but did get my appointments.
Hurrah!
Oh. My local vaccination centre would be in Kendal – 55 miles away.
Yebbut think of all the mint cake you can buy while you’re in town. Swings and roundabouts, dude.
Got a letter when I got home yesterday and booked both jabs. I’m 56 in a couple of weeks.
Got my first one booked today for this Thursday. The lass at the GP called me and said I had to commit to both appointments (this week and the end of May), so I said okay. Thing is, I’m moving next Thursday, so I guess I’m not registering with a more local practice for a couple of months then. Really wanted to have my jab a week or so, so I was covered before the move, as I am going to be coming into contact with a lot of people. I’m also moving to the town with the second highest infection rate in the country. I’m just not going to leave the house for a fortnight. Actually, it’ll take me a month to empty all these boxes I’m filling. I am now beginning to agree with everyone who says I have too many CDs, books, comics, magazines…well, too many of anything I like.
I am seriously concerned about how they are going to fit all the boxes into the new house, which is much smaller than this one. It’ll be okay when the boxes have been emptied onto the shelves, but till then they are going to have to leave paths through them so I can move around the house. It was bad enough when I moved to Brighton in 94 and couldn’t physically fit all my stuff into the flat I had rented over the phone. I had a very embarrassing introduction when I turned up at A&E on the Saturday night and said hello, I’m starting work here on Monday, but I have nowhere to live!
Getting mine tomorrow at the Kassam Stadium in Oxford. I am 55. My GP surgery is still only on the 60-65 group due to supply issues.
Got the text this morning but took about 10 attempts to finally get two dates confirmed on the website as it wouldn’t confirm dates or tell me a second date wasn’t available when I clicked ‘confirm’.
Got there in the end!
What sort of dates are people being offered? Every time I’ve tried to book online, I’m being offered dates from April onwards, and then the second one in June.
Not that I’ve actually managed to book anything, mind, as every time I got something the slot had gone by the time I’d got through to the confirmation page.
Having mine a week on Sunday. 8.55am in the Brighton Centre. The last time I was there I saw The Flaming Lips. Hopefully I’m as euphoric after my jab as I was after the Lips.
I’m 15 minutes ahead of you!
Mrs T, a mere spring chicken, is next week. Mine is tomorrow.
