Was going to post this on the triple-hamper How are we all doing? thread, but it might get lost there, so…
I love having my savage breast soothed, and I love watching orchestras doing what they do close up. The Berlin Philharmonic have made all their concerts free to watch on their website. Perfect. You just need to register using the voucher.

The Metropolitan Opera are doing something similar. They are putting an Opera online for 23 hours each evening at 7:30pm New York time. And this week is going to be Wagner Week. So it will be the Ring Cycle from Wednesday to Saturday.

Amazing! Thanks for the link.
EDIT – Just realised I can also log into the app on my TV as well to watch these in full size HD. This is great.
mikethep says
Which app, Arthur?
Arthur Cowslip says
Live Concert Hall, it’s called. Works really well. I have an LG telly.
Arthur Cowslip says
Sorry! “Digital Concert Hall”
mikethep says
Excellent, LG here too, with Sonos, so it’ll sound good too. I’ll investigate.

Successfully installed, thanks for the heads up Arthur. Watching Mahler’s Third at the moment. My attention tends to wander listening to large-scale things like Mahler, but watching it is tremendous. Conductors are getting younger, have you noticed?
Arthur Cowslip says
I saw there was a lot of Mahler on there so I intend to give him a proper go. Yes, my mind has also wandered when attempting to listen to one of his symphonies.

There is a lot of wonderful stuff on offer all over the globe.

In a similar, this was posted by Kronos Quartet. They never seem to delight and impress me.
“Last week, we asked our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram followers to share songs that bring them peace of mind.
We’ve now collected those into a Spotify playlist with some additional selections from your friends at Kronos.
We’ll continue to add suggestions as we receive them, so let us know on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram what song brings you peace of mind. 🎧: ”

More free stuff, the National Theatre this time! It’s going to be hard to adjust when this is all over.
Can highly recommend Tamsin Greig in Twelfth Night.

This is an innovative idea from the Italian Culture Institute in Stockholm.
“Due to the pandemic spread of the coronavirus we have not the possibility to continue our regular activity of cultural events.
To make some of our events accessible during this hard period we will allow a single spectator at a time to participate.
The idea, known as “One-On-One,” comes from the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre in Russia. The project will help to foster a new sort of public interaction as the virus forces institutions as ours to temporarily close and events to be postponed.
Those interested in attending to the “one person event” will soon be able to apply, and randomly
we will sort out the winner on a live sending on our Instagram page @iicstoccolma.
The person that wins the draw and wants to participate should also agree to be part of some photography shots that we will take during the event in order to use them for our communication on social media channels.
We want to try this format starting with the projection of “Sigismondo“ from the Rossini Opera Festival that we were forced to interrupt due to the spread of the virus.
Sigismondo is an operatic ‘dramma’ in two acts by Gioachino Rossini to an Italian libretto by Giuseppe Maria Foppa.
For more information and to register your name to the draw send an e-mail to iicstockholm@gmail.com

Thanks for all these marvellous tips. The NT one was particularly exciting as I’ve seen some of their productions “live” at the cinema here and really enjoyed them.
The “Time In” site has lots of good ideas. Here, for example, the Scaubuhne in Berlin

I am sharing lots with the good burghers of Kärrtorp. Bio Reflexen, our local cinema, has a very loyal audience for live shows from the Met which are much appreciated. Maybe we’ll get some new ideas for future screenings?

Did anybody else watch ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’ -the National Theatre’s first offering of their streaming programme? I watched it last night and thought it was absolutely brilliant. Every actor, and every character, was superb. I laughed a lot. If you haven’t seen it, it seems to be still showing, though it’s due to change today (for Jane Eyre)..

I saw it a while back and totally agree. Pure entertainment. I was dubious about seeing a play at the cinema but was immediately won over by
A London friend of mine saw it several times as a result of her work as a London guide. She told me that Rufus Hound, who took over the main role, was even better!
Humbug! Corden was superb.
