I’m doing everything the FAQs says to do to post an image but getting no joy. I’m going to try again.

  11. I was having bother yeaterday, then noticed synatax of code

    img src=”http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t490/Rigid_Digit/8027744244_ad33e65c51_h_zpsa64958df.jpg” alt=”” width=”300px/” /

    it was the extra / at the end I was missing, and the alt=””, and the “” around the size setting I was missing
    (assuming they’re actually important)

  25. Right – here’s what I’ve discovered so far:

    if you paste the Direct link from Photobucket (or similar) it works (careful of picture size though)

    if you past the http: link from n image on another site, it just adds the link, and not the picture

    If I use the code provided on the FAQ page, it doesn’t seem to work

    if I sod around with the code (ie nick it from Page Source info), it still doesn’t work.

    ??? Any ideas what the “proper” HTML code should be ???

    • Works much the same in Imgur (Direct link) but doesn’t have that link to the rest of my account (not that there is anything “questionable” and/or embarrassing in there).

      Question is do I now migrate from Photobucket to Imgur?
      Each to their own, and who cares really.
      Would like to know what the problem with entering the HTML code in the Comment box is though

  45. It’s very random. I’ve managed to post a pic in an OP (resized in Photobucket), but only once as a comment, despite trying bloody everything. The once time it did work, I’d done exactly the same as another time it hadn’t.

  49. It’s easy to see why Facebook is so popular.

    A three year old could post a photo there.

    Don’t worry! I’m not suggesting we go back.

    But for us un-technical folk not having to triangulate the hypotenuse of the Imgur, times it by the Photobucket and then factor in the square root of Tigger’s birthday is an enormous relief.

  50. Posting images is a b*gger at the moment.
    But at least we’ve got the YouTube bit back (and I’m guessing the principle will work for Souncloud, Spotify, MixCloud and Vimeo too (as suggested in the Post a Blog page).

    All power to the eggheads that got AW alive again, but the awkwardness of posting photos is a bit annoying.
    I’d rather have the AW with “features and functions I need to learn” than Facebook (FB serves a purpose, but was not necessarily conducive to AW chat).

  78. We can place men on the moon. Send missions to Mars. Catapult probes out of our galaxy. But posting a picture here appears to defeat the most persistent and tech/net-savvy members of the Massive. But take courage folks and remember the wise words of W.C. Fields: “If at first you don’t succeed, give up!”
