Lack of bottom has always been my complaint about my vinyl copy (purchased c 1986). Not sure that a bit more bottom would persuade me to buy it again, though!
Submitting the previous remaster to Blastification (4 Goodmans speakers with 8″ woofers and a KEF Sub, settings in iToonez (Spit!) set to stun) there’s definitely some bottom on In the Light.
update: Playing the remaster of Bert Plant’s first solo album Pictures at Eleven, track 1 side 1 – Burning Down One Side, proves that Physical Graffiti is indeed bottomless.
Staying in one leg, so far, this year. Haven’t driven since August last year.
Further Blastification via a Yamaha DSP-5 AV amp ensures there is bottom on PG, in fact furniture is making vibrational noise. It’s not the album, it’s your adventures in hi-fi.
Got a nice pair of Goodmans car speakers from 83 (red Ford Fiesta mk.1) if you are interested? Got a lovely ‘Hairdresser’s Car’ that I wanna keep-2012 Corsa SRI with no wires available for hijacking. Being Blasted! they have serious bass or bottom.
I see your point but I do possess groovy headphones as recommended by Burt. They even give a decent bottom to early Beatles, just not Physical Graffiti.
these days it is high end that concerns me. Had my ears tested and all was going well til the upper register and then the needle seemed to fall off a cliff
I bought it yesterday and to be honest I can’t really spot the difference in terms of quality with the last re-mastered version. Or at least its fairly marginal.
Which begs the question, is there a limit to how far you can re-master old albums and flog them to people like me through clever marketing without it looking like a cash grabbing exercise? Nice CD sleeve on this version though.
Bottom? What it needs is my xylophone!
Genius!
Fabulous!
More xylophone. Not my xylophone. I don’t have a xylophone.
As opposed to more bottom not “my” bottom
I’d just like it to have some bottom. Any bottom will do!
It’s all about da bass (knob) (missis)
I’ve tried all my knobs are turned up to 11! Makes no difference to Physical Graffiti’s bottom.

I left them after Zep 2 but, good god, talk about squeezing blood out of a dead man’s arse…
Well put, Stephen. …erm… sorry… hen.
Is that Drakeygirl xylophone version available in HMV Wimbledon? I’m popping down there later to get this Jimmy Page version I keep hearing about.
Can’t get on with all these red boxes!
Me neither!
You are not alone – they were problematic for Julian Clary too.
In a word, no. Listened again this morning; clear, well defined, bottomless.
Thank you foxy one. You’ve just saved me fifteen quid.

Hello Mr Blast! How’s your legs? Still behaving?

Haha! These days, it’s car, mp3 or tabletop computer speakers. No floor woofers for me any more.
Funnily enough, the rest of the Zep cannon has plenty of bottom. I cannot understand why PG misses out.
I hope you are driving soon.

Stop it! You are making me feel old.
Hmm

With those set ups Tigger does anything short of a reggae dub album have bottom ?

No. We are arsepieces who believe the hype, and Steven Wilson is laughing all the way!
Can I ask you a serious question, rocker? Why did you buy it?
Really?
