How about Stackridge performing The Laughing Policeman? They performed this on the John Peel Show and this is only available, erm, elsewhere. Not an official release you understand.
You know, that cheered me up. Can’t say I’m a fan of Chumbawamba but with work “challenges” getting a bit overwhelming at the moment, that song’s been going through my head and the chorus has been keeping me going – and now I can associate it with whimisical alt-popmeisters rather than with award-ceremony anarcho-punk shenanigans.
