DJ Paul takes us through some of his favourite songs of the time. He had good taste in music, even back then. Add to this tape loops and some not necessarily unstoned banter.
It was intended to be strictly limited, with only his fellow fabs given a copy each. But more than fifty years later, well. Here we are.
Enjoy!
This has been around for ages. Apparently from John’s copy and only reason it’s so short is cos he taped over the rest
I bought this lp version a few years ago from a record fair, blue vinyl no less!
It came with a cd version which has the “We Can Work It Out” Macca home demo on but is curtailed after a verse and chorus as John had indeed taped over it with stoned gibberish.

Question: the thing is described as “a custom vinyl mixtape”. If it was vinyl, how could John “tape” over it?
That Peter & Gordon track, Someone Ain’t Right, is interesting, and a cut above their usual utterly wet and weedy output. It was written by Payne-Carroll. After a bit of digging it turns out that Payne is none other than Just One Look/Whatcha Gonna Do About It hitmaker Doris Troy, writing under her songwriting handle Doris Payne. Carroll is Gregory Carroll, her songwriting partner.
