Love that, thanks.
…and, for your delectation and delight…
…and…
I’ve never really listened to The Dream Syndicate before, but as a fan of guitar duelling (Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Television, even a bit of Quo), that was a mighty impressive marathon.
Featuring John Paul Jones, no less.
…and…
…and…
Massive fan of Green on Red and the solo work of Dan Stuart and Chuck Prophet. Allegedly there is a GOR boxset due sometime this year – fingers crossed.
The Dream Syndicate set which I think came out in 2023 is also recommended.
I hadn’t heard about the GoR boxset – I’ll be all over that, if it turns up! Huzzah!!
There’s also a boxset of The Dream Syndicate’s Medicine Show scheduled for an October release. Don’t have any details yet, but they only worked on the same eight songs during the six months it took to record it; so expect alternate and live takes rather than anything new.
PS- Chris Cacavas’ albums are better than anything by Chuck or Dan. Seriously.
I saw them with The Rain Parade a while back. Vicki Bangle was on guitar too.
Yes, I went to a couple of gigs on that tour. Really enjoyed Vicki on guitar. It gave the band something fresh. Again.
@dwightstrut thanks for the tip re Chris Cacavas’ albums. Was aware of his work with GOR but not his solo work. Quite hard to find but just order an album from Discogs so appreciate you posting.
Which one did you manage to track down?
