Well, pass me the parsley! I found this by accident – I knew the Softs had played this, but had no idea that it had been recorded before the version on Bananamoon…..

Musings on the byways of popular culture
….and…..just for comparison….
Vintage Softs and Canterbury Scene! Yes please!
You don’t see gyrating hippies like that any more. Such a shame.
Re: Soft Machine
From early photos of the band, I can never work out which one’s Robert Wyatt before he grew that enormous Karl Marx beard.
It’s easy when they are standing – Robert Wyatt is the shortest (why am I so short?)….
I’m impressed by the amount of quality live footage of early Soft Machine when there is such a scarcity of other UFO Club groups: it seems to be due to their popularity in France and Belgium.
I find myself wondering how many Softs LPs were hanging around at home when Damon Albarn was a nipper.
Why, Foxy? I don’t see it….
Fred the Fish up there brought Damon’s laddish cockernee nonsense to mind, that’s all.
I was just reading about Robert Wyatt on his Facebook group yesterday. Seems he’s been in poor health recently, hope the old bugger’s on the mend now
This might interest you, if you haven’t seen it before….2016, I think. The band are interesting, very good interpretations….and the great man himself has some interesting things to say….
