All I Remember is dreading that moment when you needed to post something pronto and you realised you were fresh out of stamp supplies.
On the principle that Nothing Compares To receiving something through your actual letterbox, An Post have issued these cool Irish pop star stamps, featuring Christy Moore, Sinéad O’Connor, Lisa Hannigan and Hozier.
Also nice for nutters who collect sh*t.
“Some” of the profits even go to the music industry’s COVID 19 Emergency Relief Fund.
And there’s some online music to promote ‘em on
anpost.com/festival from tonight..

Unrelated, but ‘cos you need a comment to get over there ->, here’s my favourite Irish single so far this year:
(Kojaque – Town’s Dead)
Arthur Cowslip says
What? No Bono?
Sewer Robot says
There have stamps for before for Phil, U2, Van and Rory. It would have been tricky to get a couple of these to come along to the GPO for a gig..
Gary says
Ahem… cough… scuse… but… ahem… just saying…
Sewer Robot says
Indeed. Good point, that chap..

And – where’s Horslips band?
Vulpes Vulpes says
They are all classified as showing a ‘singer-songwriter’. I think we’ll have to wait for the ‘rock band’ set before we see the mighty Horslips enshrined for immortality by An Post.
Vulpes Vulpes says
I’m a little puzzled.
Are these like, real actual stamps you can use to send letters and stuff? Where is the denomination shown? Or are they just colourful stickers with perforated edges?
Sewer Robot says
I fear I may have led you astray with my need to crowbar song titles into my OP.
These would be special issue stamps of value to PEOPLE who collect pop stuff or PEOPLE who collect actual stamps.
I actually thought our lot would be more interested in the live music link
Vulpes Vulpes says
er, OK.
I still don’t have a clue as to whether or not these are postage stamps that you can use to post stuff!
Not that it matters, as my wallet still contains a few 50c stamps with a nice Corr reisc/Grey Heron on them, and some 82c stamps showing a lovely spray of Luibh bhleine/Sea Aster flowers. So I’m sorted for a couple of letters and a postcard or two the next time I’m in the republic.
