The Last Gig Before The Apocalypse – a fantastic charity night at the Pavilion, Belfast, with the Brian Houston Power Trio, the Holsteins (reunion), One More Great Adventure (a new venture by Maghera legends James Devlin and his crew) and Dave McLarnon’s Hat Band – a one-off grouping of local legends featuring Dave McLarnon (Shock Treatment, Peacefrog), Billy Shovel (Ghost of an American Airman), Norman Boyd (Stonefish), Ali MacKenzie (Bush Turkeys, Mighty Mojos, etc.), Petesy Burns (Stalag 17, Outcasts, Petesy Burns’ Arse,. etc.).
Five Ulster rock classics by Peacefrog, The Adventures, Energy Orchard, Rudi and Them. Let’s rock!

Thanks for sharing, @colin-h. Looks like it was a terrific evening; hopefully your post foreshadows a return to such affairs in the not-too-distant future.
I’ve been meaning to pick your brains about a matter of local interest, and this gives me an opportunity. I miss Bap Kennedy very much and seldom a day goes by without one of his tunes popping into my head or onto my iPod. But do you know what happened to his former Energy Orchard colleague Paul Toner? I loved that band with the total commitment that only an obsessive music anorak in his early twenties can muster, and Paul was far too wonderful a guitarist to disappear from the scene completely when the band broke up in 1996…
Thanks Rob. I don’t know is the short answer… but I know the Jobester a little. I’ll ask…
That’s very kind of you, @colin-h. I apologise for treating you like a mere NI-music-info vending machine. The version of the band with Joby in it remains my favourite: they were such a blast live.
