I’m thinking @clive that it’s pretty close down in the dingy depths of the dark, forgotten streets where nobody knows our name and we can but bow to the “proper” players who stride down the fairways as if they own them, lapping up the applause (and for all I know, the many young maidens flinging themselves at their expensively shod feet with cries of “Never seen a wood that big” or “Is that a mashie niblick in your pocket or ..?”) so any chance of an update of who is fighting who for the honour of holding Spoonie aloft?

  213. This just came up on my computer’s internet and made me smile. It’s not really Wordle related as such, but I thought I’d post it here as it does have words in it and also because the Wordle threads are so incredibly boring I thought it might raise participants’ spirits a little. It’s film director William Friedkin talking about working with non-“method” actors like Tommy Lee Jones as compared to “method” actors like Benicio del Toro and Nick Nolte. I found it most amusing.

    • Wordle threads are boring? All of life is here – joy, despair, heartache, men being men in the after-game showers playfully and menfully slapping each others bottoms, the joy of cold water on hot flesh, true friendship, the sharing of towels, laughing at that unfortunate incident in the 9th hole bunker (all charges have been dropped) and above all – a game being well played.
