Speaking of TOTP, is anyone else wincing a bit at Peter Powell’s touchy-feely persona on BBC4 TOTP reruns lately? Arms round girls, slightly creepy and totally unnecessary chat with them: ‘What’s your name?’… ‘Hey, you’re the right size…’ on last week’s episode. For what, Peter?
I suppose one puts a different perspective on it now than then, but I’d be surprised if Peter wasn’t wincing himself, post-Savile/DLT/Jonathan K/Rolf et al if he’s watching this stuff now.
