I can beat that. Worked in the record dept of Boots in 1983 and I must of heard the first one at least 300 times that Xmas!
It did sell well though, we had boxes of it nearly up to the ceiling in the staff canteen.
I bought that first one in 1983. I was amazed that the real singles were all on one album – something that had only happened on “rock classics” compilations. This was a bigger leap forward than penicillin.
How about the last 14…that’d be a bigger challenge. 14 hours of Westlife, Florence and theMachine, Pitbull, Black Eyed Peas and Mumford
