Just putting it out there… Twang rereleases are like buses (etc)
You saw this back in 2020 when some were quite nice about it. Well, due to, ahem, distribution problems it had to be withdrawn but now it rides again. Some tracks were rewritten, some just had a few tweaks to the mix. But I like so here it is.

If you like late night cool bluesy music give this a listen folks.
I think you should tell the story behind the Vs1 release @Twang.
I was also wondering about that…
Ah well… Briefly, when I originally made it in 2020 it was as a tribute to an Oklahoma based whispering bluesy/country singer songwriter who I was listening to a lot during lockdown. Let’s call him KK. The songs were intentionally reminiscent of KK’s style and I let his widow, also an artist, about it and hearing nothing so popped it on Bandcamp and Spotify.
Some weeks later I received a not-unfriendly but nonetheless robust email from the KK estate lawyer who said it was, shall we say, KK songs with different lyrics. I equally robustly pointed out that this self evidently wasn’t true (KK, for all his qualities, hardly broke new harmonic ground with his essentially minor key 3 chord tricks) , though in fairness actually a couple of tracks were, shall we say, perhaps a little over influenced by the great man.
His concern was people might actually think it was KK, which I think was extremely unlikely, but lawyers, eh. Anyway, anything for a quiet life so I took it down and moved on.
But…but. Thing was, I really liked some of the songs and it was always in my mind to rewrite the more egregious examples and eliminate KK from the project and finally I got around to it. There were also a few little inconsequential mix changes which always bugged me so I fixed them at the same time too.
Hence the redux version with one rewrite and one reharmonise (Twang Jr did a lovely saxophone part which I really wanted to use so I changed the chords around it but kept the part itself, and the guitar solo which was a one take which I was rather pleased with).
That’s it! Let’s keep KK’s better known identity out of the thread, eh? The Man is listening…
That’s quite a story. One would imagine that KK’s lawyers may have bigger fish to fry, but perhaps they are in dire straits?
These Black Country metal boys don’t like to let go, but now his attention is maybe more around his Wolverhampton venue, he’ll have less time to be checking stuff out.
P.s @twang , Mr Downing is still alive!
Fascinating, Twang – clearly flattery will get you nowhere!
In an oblique way I take it as a compliment!
Blimey! You specifically titled it ‘A Tribute to…’ and they still wrote to moan? Musta been a Really quiet afternoon over in Oklahoma that day. Now they’ve lost the free publicity from the inspirational attribution. These lawyers, eh? whadda they know.
