Not a fan of Rodgers, I’ve always regarded him a something of a one trick pony. However, I’ve no doubt that this programme would be an exercise in Lauren Laverne blowing smoke up the part of his anatomy that she believes the sun shines from…
I am in awe of his ability to take the rhythm guitar style of Tom Johnston (Doobie Bros.) and use it to make magic. It is a hell of a one trick, but it seems he has just about exhausted it.
Nile and Bernard Edwards made some amazing music between them. Not so convinced he’s still got the composition and arrangement magic on his own, but no matter.

{In reply to Carl} Last week’s castaway, composer Thea Musgrave, chose two of her own for much the same reason.
That new Chic album…eugh
It’s an absolutely fascinating listen, whatever tunes he chose.
You’d enjoy his autobiography.
