    Been somewhat bombarded with PMs asking for more information about my influencer caddie! I’ll tell you everything I know. She’s called Tamara and she’s nice enough but perhaps a little disorganised. She arrived at the course in a big coat, with seconds to spare. As we prepared to tee off, I heard her saying to her followers that she was in such a rush that she forgot her clothes and the coat was far too big to wear on the course. They voted that she needed to lose the coat.
    So she’s caddying in her nightwear! Honestly! If only she had got up 10 minutes earlier, she could have avoided the embarrassment.

  28. Evening all. Having watched my brother do this each morning over Christmas, I have just started doing Wordle and …. er … I started off with a 3/6 on New Years Day. (5/6 today)

    I don’t want to blame my influencer caddie but Tamara was really found wanting here! I’m on the green with a chance of an eagle and, on the advice of her online golf fans that follow her, she talks me out of using the putter three times! I overrule her on the 5th shot. “They want to see more wood!” she kept saying. I’m certainly not going to take advice from her followers again. They don’t seem to know much about golf at all!

  156. As the storm clouds continue to roll in and the forecasters are confidently forecasting a deluge of truly biblical proportions, I’m truly sorry to announce that play has been suspended. Unfortunately, it is now certain that January’s competition will have to be declared null and void and therefore all scores will be erased from the record books. I, for one, am bitterly disappointed – I felt my game was just coming together and was wholly confident I was in with an excellent chance of claiming the Old Claret Jug.
    Oh well, see you all February 1st….

    A disastrous tee shot but recovered well to sink a very, very long putt from the edge of the green for a birdie. . Tamara wasn’t expecting that and asked me to do it again because she hadn’t filmed a reaction shot. Golf doesn’t work like that, young lady. You snooze, you lose.

        • Good grief it looks like I am in the firing line now!

          You will note that Tamara has been present throughout. She was also my caddie in the last tournament, in which I was particularly piss-poor.

          My performance has certainly improved on this one’s back 9. WHY is as much of a mystery to me as Tamara’s entrepreneurial influencer business model.

      • I think you’ll find that the sandman who resides in the bunker had not thrown sand in my eyes thus I was suffering an insomnacial bout. I therefore visited the clubhouse and paid a nominal one-off one day fee. If you check the books you’ll find the payment.
        I hied myself to the green with a borrowed mashie and taking up position took my first stroke. I think the grass could have been mowed a tad closer as I had a mis hit, have a word with the groundsman for further info ask P Gabriel.
        Not bad on the second and whoop-di-doo a success on my third. I’ve snapped the mashie in half and retired.

    • Busy day Load/ness, parcels containing LPs to be opened, check for quality control etc All in good order, have the pressing plants upped their game? I’ve only had one LP which I had to return out of my previous 50-60 purchases. Then there was coffee to be supped, bacon sarnies to be ate, dogs to be walked, you know what it’s like another day in paradise.

      Now where was I, oh yes Wordle #941, ‘scuse me why I complete today’s puzzle…..2 minutes later, I think my inspiration has gone out the door. One over today.

    Quite sweet, really. Tamara crowdfunded enough to buy a pink neck massager for me. It’s a foot long, has a ribbled surface and wobbles around and pulses in order to reach those hard-to-get-at places. I’ll be using it tonight back at the motel for sure.

  229. Just a last few comments before I go

    I must be really thick because I was so taken with the ‘CHEAT’ accusation especially from @chiz who has blatantly cheated playing this game. Go back a few tournaments it’s there from his own hand. Prior to that NEVER did Load/ness take him to task for his consistent low scores as he has done with @Baron-Harkonnen several times. When Baron took Lowness to task over this Lowness would deny these accusations reminding me of a child caught red handed, oh how I laughed when I was lurking around the thread.

    Lowness seams to work in pairs once with Saucecraft now with the abomination that is Chiz.

    Now I see Mikethep has joined this gruesome twosome where the hell do you Mikethep along with those two have any proof that I cheated? Why the hell would I? Then the penny dropped I’m Baron in disguise! Even if I was which I’m not how does that mean I cheated? I love to hear an answer from you but I won’t, I’m not wasting my time around here any more. I may return if friends contact me regarding any more cowardly accusations. I say cowardly because if I was to meet any of you I doubt you’d repeat them. So much for keyboard warriors.

    You Mikethep was upset over my comments on the overseas voting. Fair enough I don’t expect everyone or even anyone to agree with me but to go and agree with Cheech & Chong’s accusations is disgraceful. Do not ever pull anyone up with your complaints with what they have said after this.

    Finally where are you MODS? You jumped down my throat at light speed when I commented on the overseas voting thread but do nothing over this fiasco.

      • There’s a film in this. A minor member of the nobility has an obsession with the Lodestone of Wrongness, a mystical cipher which generates daily five-letter codes which, if cracked in sequence over 18 consecutive days, unlock riches unimagined by man.

        But his nemesis, the Abominable Chiz, a fellow of low regard, constantly questions The Baron’s honour in his quest. Driven half-mad by the mutterings of such bitter contemptables, The Baron announces he will henceforth live as a hermit, but secretly continues his quest under the ill-chosen, transparent alias, X-Pat.

        Once Mr X has defeated all other competitors including the abomination that is Chiz, The Baron announces his return to the quest. But the monster he has created has grown too strong, and The Baron finds himself facing the toughest test of his life – an 18-day cryptic battle of skill and deceit against his own alter-ego.
