First thoughts: Style Council with a bit of mid-period Dad Rock Weller, and a sniff of Sonik Kicks
Paul would probably hate the comparisons to his past, so let’s just say this is Weller doing what he wants right now – and good on him

The first few seconds are interesting before it turns into a boring shuffle. It could have been much more interesting rhythmically if he’d followed the asymmetrical route. I’m hearing Tears for Fears B side.

Sounds nice, a bit new-agey, but why is the vocal so low down in the mix? I could barely hear it.
I thought it a bit of a plodder after the first few minutes, then the glorious strings kicked in and I was sold – each subsequent play just gets better and better for me.
It’s a collaboration of sorts with ace Hauntologists Belbury Poly, following his EP on Ghostbox.
