No, seriously its REALLY good – he’s back to writing great tunes again. Best album since “Liars” if that helps anyone place it and after a couple of listens, its that good.
The video is a remix of a b-side as I couldn’t find a track off the album, but if you thought you might go fo the album you shouldn’t be disappointed. Also on Spotify
Hmmm. Luckily I missed his last tour in which he apparently massacred his own back catalogue.
Has he made many since Liars? Not that I bought that one.
How does it compare with my favourites Hermit of Minkhollow, Healing, Todd, AWATS?
I can’t get enthusiastic about the new one, though I tried. There are too many weak efforts at EDM (his last album captured this sort of thing better). There is a track which is a bit like an out-take from “Healing”. The last concerts were OK until the frigging jive-bunny encore. I know we are not going to get AWATS, but a “Liars” every 10 years would be nice.
I thought this review nailed it. It’s a one listen, shrug, and never listen to again album in my opinion.

I’ve been considering getting that “Todd Rundgren at the BBC” 3CD + DVD set, James. The price seems reasonable.
I take it that you’d recommend it heartily to all fans of classic 70s-era Todd?
I would indeed! Gave it a spin on Spotify yesterday and I need to order it ASAP.
Possibly the most barmy, out-there, jaw droppingly bonkers gig I’ve ever seen: The Ice Guitar
Possibly the most barmy, out-there, jaw droppingly bonkers gig I’ve ever seen: The Ice Guitar extravaganza on stage at Devonshire House, one of the Union buildings at Exeter Uni. Left the building shaking my head at having witnessed it all, and not at all sure of the significance of having done so. Luckily I think the jazz Capstans were absent that night, or I might still be in recovery.
Ah that’ll be that Singring thing, I saw it at the Glasgow apollo too. Todd allas has an element of cheese, sadly.
