Because a few of you on these boards like the Associates. (Well, maybe one obsessive.) Here a new band – Walt Disco who have certainly been listening to them a lot, as well as Sparks and early Roxy Music.
They have an album out called Unlearning and very good it is too.

Very very Associatey, vocals especially. And operatic Sparksy too.
Overall, for me possibly trying a bit too hard but then again I’m still coming down from last Thursday’s Sparks gig in Manchester against which all things are being measured now.
Suitably freaky and disturbing. I like the fact some kids, somewhere, are into this. I hope they go back to the source(s) as well.
I was expecting to be able to dance to it but, clearly, they are all about defying expectations. Good for them.
Notwithstanding what’s been said above: did the vocals occasionally strike you as a bit…erm, Bowie-like?
Have to say, I enjoyed both of those tunes.
As has been discussed before, Bowie was an influence on Mackenzie. However, if these guys swore blind they’d never heard Bowie and only listened to Mackenzie, I wouldn’t believe them.
Well, I suspect that the lead singer has definitely heard Lodger…
