The King Crimson CD with the new issue of Mojo is really very splendid, and I write as someone who has always found them easier to admire than enjoy on my infrequest previous encounters. The track listing is in the link below (the first track is missing its ‘Schizoid’ rather than some unreleased obscurity).

Fab: I have a long flight in Thursday and a new mojo featuring King crimson will be ideal.
KC get the CD, but Queen get the cover. There’s also an ad for a slightly alarming bust of Freddie Mercury with ‘price on enquiry’.
I suppose you can’t blame them, but you really hope for better from Dr. Brian May ( as he is described in the ad). Available as ‘full size or miniature replica’, the awful thing is priced ‘from £995’. Who buys this crap?
In other news, the CD is fab, although there are a couple of tracks that try the patience a little. A good edition of Mojo, but I can’t unsee that bust *shudder*…
That Freddie bust for the curious http://i.imgur.com/riHhc7y.jpg
He looks like Christopher Reeve playing a Boer War general.
Was about to say, “Christ, John Deacon’s aged!” but then I see it’s the sculptor (because Deacon had the good taste not to get involved in all this posthumous grubbiness).
King Crimson are the subject of the new Uncut Ultimate Music Guide. I’ll stick my neck out and predict it will be their lowest seller to date.
The Creedence article was good. Just wanted it to be a bit longer and deeper
Oh yes.
We had a thread about CCR. I bet we were even more superficial.
I subscribe to Mojo and have also bought the Uncut special edition.
Both magazines are excellent and the CD is wonderful.
Bit of a dog of a Mojo.
For all the letters about “Oh, no, not Beatles/Dylan/Stones/Hendrix again,” Queen?
They’re now completely the preserve of the Great Unwashed (see also: Elton John and, frankly, David Bowie).
And that cover was truly awful! I know they’re no oil paintings, but really.
Fripp? Nice guy, dull as Arsenal. Should have done a piece on Giles, Giles & Fripp.
Wouldn’t have got it if it wasn’t part of the subscription; might keep the CD for the first track, a kind of one-track ’69 promo.
Hopefully Beatles or Jimi next issue.
Not available this morning in Morrisons. They had a Dylan cover and CD instead. 😞
