I know @Fatima-Xberg and maybe some others are fans. I saw their tour last year and still in fine fettle.

From a newspaper :
Frontman Tex Perkins, speaking with Double J’s Karen Leng, explains the new material reminds him of The Cruel Sea’s earlier records.
In that “it owed a bit to that surf-instrumental vibe”, he said, “rather than where we ended up with things like Better Get A Lawyer, which is weird, grungy … with slide guitars.”
Wanting to do an album that was more like “early Cruel Sea”, Perkins desired to lean back into guitar-driven instrumental sounds.

I love the idea of a new Cruel Sea album. They were an amazing band, but I’m a little bit nervous about what the loss of James Cruikshank will do.
The new song is OK but sounds a little too Jimmy Buffett for me. I need some dirty slide and organ.
Article suggests it will be lighter as per their surf groove origins.
Wonder if it’s telling that he was talking on Double J and not Triple J?
