I’m not going but she has a compilation of b-sides coming out on RSD.
Why they choose to release a collection of mostly 19-year-old tunes now is anyone’s guess. The most recent being a cover of Love Will Tear Us Apart from only four years ago.
Yup. I’ll be there, in the front row with my 19 year old niece who is a huge fan. We’ve been looking forward to this gig since she confirmed she’d booked the Palladium during one of her tiny shows just round the corner at Cafe Zedel in June ‘23. Nerina is a consistently excellent live performer, and this is clearly going to be a special night.
So glad you enjoyed it too! Everyone in the audience seemed really happy, and willing her on to knock it out of the park. I’ve been seeing her live right from the start of career, back in 2001. Sometimes her performances can hit that utterly exceptional level (very often when she plays with the string section and the full band) and last night was very special. The venue and heightened expectations associated with the evening created a terrific atmosphere. It was great. I came across one of her former producers, Bernard Butler, in the bar too: we were a classy crowd.

Is that a separate release of one of the discs on the new 3CD re-issue of Fires?
fentonsteve says
Quite possibly… according to the Resident website, tracklist is:
Love Will Tear Us Apart
(Cash + Sin) Mr. King
All Good People
Confide In Me
Vena Cava
Impossible

The full set is c.£50 so the single disc has a market…me!

Last time I saw her was at Blenheim Palace a few years ago (supporting Gary Barlow!) and she was excellent.

I went – it was fabulous. I loved just about everything about it.

It was indeed an excellent night.
One of my top 10 gigs of all time and I have been to a few!

For those who couldn’t attend here is a nice shortened acoustic set of what you missed.

That all-important 18th anniversary Half-Speed Mastered by Barry Grint at Air Studios LP out now. Bugger, I’ll have to buy it!
