The new State Fayre festival ain’t going to be too happy. Or Blenheim, both of which were relying on the Young + Costello package to break even.
I am guessing health is the reason, with medial advice. He would be blasted financially for breaking the contract for anything less. “A rest” probably wouldn’t satisfy the insurers.
That’s rather buggered up Costello’s Summer plans too as he was support plus doing his own gigs. Economies of scale just evaporated I guess, this despite my buying tickets for both his London gigs this week.
What a shame, I had booked Manchester. It would have been his first show back in the city since the 2008 Electric Band shows at the Apollo, which were fantastic.
Glad I went over to Dublin to see him last summer. Be The Rain! Sun Green! Great set.

He has a history of such behaviour, but I presume he is not giving much away for privacy reasons

That’s the least convincing ‘written by the artist’ note I’ve seen since Charlie Watts’, though hopefully with a less grim prognosis.
I have a few chums at the Eden Project who will be mighty pissed off. I guess Elvis is big enough to headline an Eden Session on his own though.
I bought 2 tickets for me and my son for the Eden show. Was really looking forward to that evening.
Sorry to hear that. Saw some great gigs there – it’s a magical place, even if it’s raining.
My my
Hey hey.

Not sure where the rock’n’roll will is.

Alanis Morissette has been announced as the replacement for the Chelmsford gig. At least she’s Canadian I suppose.
That’s pretty ironic
My my hey hey
It’s a black fly
In your chardonnay
I think a whole set of Alanis doing One Song to the tune of another would be excellent.
