There hadn’t been any proper new episodes for several months. And while I was pondering that the other day, I did wonder what the lads could possibly do next.
So while I’m sad I won’t hear their friendly Irish brogue any more talking in such entertaining fashion about the BEETLES (their pronunciation), I respect their decision, for whatever reason…

Each episode is so full of facts, it must take months to prepare each series. They deserve a rest.
Back in the day I joined their Facebook group. The level of obsession was enough to put me off the Beatles. Today its like they’ve split up all over again. Very good podcast though.
Certainly one of the best Beatles podcasts I have heard. Better to quit at the top

I have just taken out a subscription to catch up on the Bonus episodes. I am genuinely very sad they are stopping, although Mrs. T said tonight (during the Woolton Fete episode) something like ‘just how much more is there for these two to talk about..?’.
Have they definitely stopped, then? Anyone heard it from the horses mouth, as it were?
Yes. A post on the Facebook group Didn’t completely rule out a reunion.at some point, but seems fairly definitive

I have an Acast Plus subscription to NIR. Anyone know a method for downloading and saving podcast episodes?

I use Pocket Casts as well. I know how to download podcasts for offline listening but I’m looking for a way to permanently save podcast episodes as, for example, mp3 files. I can then cancel my Acast Plus membership.
I think they just stay on your phone, I cancelled already. Will see if I have access
I believe the bonus episodes you get by subscribing to Acast Plus stay only to the end of your subscription period. Which is why I’m trying to find a way to keep them after I cancel.
I just tried to re-download a couple of them (Songs of 66) and it worked, I cancelled my subscription
around last
summer.
Haven’t tried to remove them from my phone though

For all the Afterworders who understand Swedish, I can heartily recommend the “Beatles låt för låt podcast”, hosted by Jens Holmlund and Kristoffer Olsson. It’s pretty good. My favourite episode was the Rubber Soul one.
